PARIS, FRANCE – To commence its launch in France, HICKIES was invited to host the launch of the sneakers only floor at prestigious, high-end retail store, Galeries Lafayette on May 21st. With the unveiling of the new floor exclusively dedicated to sneakers, the luxury department store featured HICKIES, Le Coq Sportif, and Converse as their leading brand sponsors.
“We’re thrilled to add France to our robust presence in Europe. I cannot imagine a better platform to launch our product than at Galeries Lafayette,” said Gastón Frydlewsky, HICKIES CEO.
Toted as curating “the best merchandise across all of Paris”, the 122-year-old luxury department store has grown from a small storefront to a bustling historic landmark since its inception. The introduction of the new sneaker space took place as an invite-only event for celebrities, influencers and media and opened up to the public the following day. HICKIES’ activation included a “lacing station” to swap shoelaces for HICKIES, among other exclusive offerings.
With over 30 bloggers and influencers attending solely to check out HICKIES in addition to the 100+ general attendees, the event was a huge success.
In addition, retail location Le Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville, better known as “Le BHV” will host a replication of the Galeries Lafayette experience in their Rivoli (women’s) and Homme (men’s) location from May 25th-30th with retail placement following the activation. Le BHV is a part of the Galeries Lafayette Group and shares the same in reputation and positioning.
With its strategic launch in France, HICKIES further bolsters its strong presence in Europe, which includes Germany, the UK, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and many others.
